What is the history of disasters caused by tornadoes?
In 1925 Montana, Illinois, and Indiana got hit by the most single violent twister in the United States. There was 689 deaths and 2,000 injured. The property damage was $16.5 million from the destruction of the tornado that went through. Another was in 1999 at Oklahoma and Kansas, in Oklahoma it killed 49 and injured at least 748 people. A separate tornado killed 5 and injured 150, both damages cost at least $1 billion.

  1. Wow!!! I had no idea that damage from a tornado could cause that mach damage and cost tha much! The reason that there r so many tornados in Oklahoma ad Kanas is because they are right in Tornado Ally. So that is why tornados are so much more common in those areas.

  2. It is sad that so many died in that tornado, but those who survived have become stronger and now know how to protect themselves against a tornado.
